29 Aug 2011 −
Within the framework of a waste reduction programme, the Irish government considers the possible introduction of a levy on packaging. For this purpose the Irish Department of Environment started a process of consultation and invited the industry, other stakeholders and the public to comment on this topic by 5th August.
The main issues of the consultation were to examine the overall views by stakeholders on a possible packaging tax as well as finding out how such a levy might be operated in practice.
