The Spanish market for beverage cans

Following two good or moderately good quarters in the first half of 2011, which increased the overall demand for beverage cans in Spain by more than 5% compared to the same period last year, market observers are reporting a 3% decline of the overall market in the third quarter. The drop in deliveries was the result of the rather bad weather, ie, at least by Spanish standards, especially in July. Temperatures did rise again markedly in August and September, as did the consumption of beverage cans. However, this was insufficient to offset the delivery losses incurred in July, said respondents.
