British cartonboard market: Demand recovering after slow summer

The first signs of a recovery after a slow summer have emerged on Britain’s cartonboard market in September. A few folding box producers reported having fuller order books again. Christmas business has begun, but substantial fluctuations like the ones seen five years ago seem to be a thing of the past. Business is stable and at a similar level to 2013, although the growth in the British economy is not reflected in the board market. One insider noted that some orders had been reassigned, boosting business substantially for

a few suppliers. All in all, however, volumes did not increase.
