“Bulging” order books cause prices for kraft sack paper in Europe to rise in Q2

The upswing in ordering activity for sack kraft paper which began very early this year – frequently at the beginning of February –

gathered more momentum during the course of the second quarter. Sack kraft paper producers report that the utilisation of their machines’ capacity is very good in mid-June. Order books for white and brown grades are apparently "bulging”, enough to keep them busy for the next two months. Delivery periods have risen accordingly and are meanwhile reaching up to 10 weeks for unbleached sack kraft paper.
