Differing comments on the current state of the market for cartonboard in France give the overall impression that demand is largely average at the moment whilst prices are mostly stagnating. Stimuli from seasonal business and from busy sectors of industry are being felt in both the GC and GD segments. In contrast, some board suppliers reported somewhat sluggish business in May depending on the customer structure of the respective board suppliers. Another factor was the various bank holidays and bridging days between them, reducing the number of working days.
