Additional substantial price increases are on the horizon for France’s cartonboard market from the start of April, if not sooner.
Manufacturers had at least unveiled plans to this effect in March.These prices and mark-ups wouldl often only apply until further notice, EUWID was told. Energy surcharges on top of these price increases were still being instituted, too.
Manufacturers described these significant price increases as primarily rooted in the huge spike in costs. Cartonboard producers were encountering hikes of up to 50 per cent in manufacturing costs compared with last year, depending on the grade and mill in question, one manufacturer said.
