After a mixed 2023, the beverage can industry is optimistic about 2024, which has looked promising in the German market. "We are fully booked in January," said one producer.
It remains to be seen whether this trend will continue and whether the European Football Championship in Germany will stimulate growth. For the aerosol can industry, the high demand trend of the previous year continued in January. Additional capacity would give some companies the opportunity to produce more and increase overall volumes. This was only feasible to a limited extent in 2023.
The strong demand from the pharmaceutical sector is also continuing for aluminium tubes. In some cases, manufacturers were reporting order backlogs reaching well into the summer months.
