Prices for all standard commodity plastics increased yet again in March.
EUWID discovered that most PE grades and PP outstripped the rise registered for the respective monomer. Buyers had to dig deeper in their pockets once more for PS, while the mark-up was roughly in line with the styrene hike. PVC achieved a lot more than was necessary to pass on costs.
The high prices are encouraging many converters of polyolefins to sit back and wait. However, demand is brisk for products with reduced availability.
