At least three European unbleached kraftliner producers have told their Polish customers that they will be invoicing €40/t more from 1 May. A few companies have revealed plans to raise white-top kraftliner prices as well. One important supplier for Poland said that it was still considering a move of this kind. With a good first quarter in the rear-view mirror and demand looking set to rise, firms feel that there is scope for prices to increase. "In recent years, we have always had too little kraftliner available in the strong season,” one industry representative said. Machines were running at satisfactory workloads, he added.
