Demand for cartonboard was very quiet mid-January and sometimes even quieter than normal for this time of year.
"We are waiting for the market to pick up soon,” one insider remarked.
Moreover, customers were under no pressure at all to source cartonboard. Just a few experts anticipate that January would result in a "good strong month.”
