The British cartonboard market: Talks about general price cuts in July or August

After a temporary high with good demand in May, the UK cartonboard market became much quieter again in June.

While there were variations between different board manufacturers and converters, the majority of sources described demand as disappointing.

A few sources reported a double-digit fall in demand compared with last year.

Converters were watching what was happening and wanted to reduce prices throughout the market as soon as possible to reverse the price increase imposed at the start of the year.
