The British kraftliner market remains balanced in June amidst good demand. Brown grades are apparently a little scarcer than white-top kraftliner. All in all, suppliers told EUWID that volumes were up to 4% higher than last year. Prices have not altered, something that caught a few converters by surprise; they had had seen potential
for universal price cuts for brown kraftliner. Converters are now hoping that they will manage to lower prices, at least over the summer. On the other hand, suppliers are referring to the planned price increases more for brown recycled grades in July – which would narrow the price gap between recycling and virgin-fibre grades.
