Paper remained in scant supply in January in the UK.
Brown recycled corrugated case material was especially hard hit, allowing manufacturers to impose higher prices at the start of January. Many experts were confident that prices for recycled containerboard would continue on an upward trajectory. One producer has already unveiled plans to charge more in mainland Europe and in the UK in February.
Brown kraftliner has become more expensive from January, too. Additional price increases look set to follow here as well.
