The British recovered paper market: Good demand propels prices higher

Contrary to expectations, there was no price collapse on the recovered paper market in the UK in November.

Prices for ordinary grades increased due to strong demand from Asia and continental Europe, while prices for higher grades were flat. Market insiders are concerned about the shortage of 40-foot containers in particular and they expect dramatic increases in container freight rates on Asian routes.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British recovered paper market. The EUWID Price Watch for November together with the complete report were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 25/2020.
