Last year, demand for self-adhesive label materials in Europe amounted to 7.45bn sqm – that is a 4.7% increase compared to 2016.
The label association FINAT is anticipating an increase exceeding 7.5bn sqm by mid-2018. “In other sectors such annual growth rates would be fantastic, with labels it however constitutes a slowing of growth over the past years,” said FINAT Managing Director Jules Lejeune at the European Label Forum that took place from 6-8 June in Dublin.
The annual growth registered between 2013 and 2016 was on average 5.4%.
