Despite the meagre macroeconomic growth in France last year, the market for cartonboard was likely to end the year with a sizeable increase in volumes. Up to October consumption of GC was around 3% higher while some 4,5% more was consumed in the GD segment. Even though order intake calmed somewhat towards the end of the year for cartonboard producers and it was assumed that buyers were stocking up in the first half of the year, insiders still believe there will be growth in cartonboard consumption in 2015.
