Market players think that the French cartonboard market will grow again this year. Manufacturers are forecasting growing overall demand for GD and GC board, which showed growth rates in the lower single-digit percentage range in 2015.
GC board prices had repeatedly been a topic of conversation in the recent past. Sporadic attempts to raise prices in the fourth quarter fizzled out, and the wind is now blowing from a different direction. A certain degree of pressure on GC board prices has built up due to low-priced offers, for instance for board made in the Far East.
