Cartonboard prices in France remained unchanged in February after they shot up in January.
However, the next round has long been announced: GD and GC board producers informed their customers of hikes that would take effect from 1 March or 1 April. The increase for GC amounts to slightly more than for GD. Besides, sellers will charge varying energy surcharges in March. Board producers explain that the recent string of hikes has not been enough to absorb the exorbitant increase in energy costs and therefore expect to see prices move higher in March or April.
