The French paper and board market: CCM prices continue to trend upwards

On the French market for corrugated case material prices continued to trend upwards in October, with paper producers reporting full capacity utilisation.

When surveyed in summer, players on the market for corrugated case material in France had been expecting that the upward price trend might soon come to an end with the stabilisation of recovered paper prices. But, owing to the tough cost situation faced by paper producers, paper prices are rising again. Energy costs have been rising recently at an unexpectedly rapid pace and paper sales prices therefore need to be adjusted, one producer told EUWID.

In October, a mark-up of usually €20/t was implemented for brown recycled corrugated case material. Kraftliner also became more expensive on the French market.
