For several months, the French market was drowning in recovered paper – especially the ordinary grades – and prices sank to a record low.
Now, the tide is turning. Within the space of only a week, the supply of recovered paper has suddenly dried up – one of the many impacts of the coronavirus epidemic. So far, the tightening of supply has not had an effect on prices in France, which were still at February levels for most grades during March. However, market experts expect hikes for most recovered paper grades in April.
