The German cartonboard market: No signs yet of panic-buying during second lockdown

In contrast to the first lockdown this spring, the current restrictions in Germany seem to be having much less of an effect on the German market for folding cartons and cartonboard.

In the second week of November, which corresponded to the second week of the "lockdown light”, the majority of market participants surveyed by EUWID said that stockpiling or panic-buying was only seen in a handful of cases. This time around, reactions are more prudent and people now have experience dealing with the measures imposed to stem the spread of the coronavirus, says one industry expert. In addition, there are reportedly no problems with cross-border transports.
