The market for cartonboard and folding cartons in Germany is under enormous pressure, starting from the board factories all the way to the end customers.
Prices for all cartonboard grades are continuously rising and lead times are still generally becoming longer rather than shorter. Neither the price nor the delivery situation is expected to ease in the summer months.
The delivery times for GD II and greyboard are around 12 weeks, but various EUWID respondents also mentioned 16 weeks. Lead times for GC II board now stretch into the fourth quarter and sometimes even until the end of the year.
