Once again, the market for standard commodity plastics was shaped by new force majeure announcements from international plastics manufacturers and bottlenecks in April.
Converters' hopes for at least a slight easing of the supply situation and stabilisation of prices were dashed in view of the continuing volume allocations by manufacturers and distributors. Quotes for standard thermoplastics reached record levels, irrespective of the price development of the upstream products.
