By the end of the first half of the year, coreboard manufacturers had verbally informed core manufacturers of their plans to hike prices with official announcements following in July for a hike of approximately €40/t. Implementation dates, however, were seen to vary. Some converters say they have agreed a first step for August and a second step for September. Other converters have pushed the date for the first instalment to 1 September while yet others believe that prices will not move up. If and by how much prices will be corrected will become clear during the third quarter, especially since manufacturers have already reported a first step.
