May was another month of growth for the German corrugated board market in a year-on-year comparison despite the large number of public holidays.
Market players reported a 1.5-2% growth on a square metre basis when adjusted for the number of public holidays in Germany in May.
The market was about 1.5-2% higher between January and the end of April, meaning that the entire first half would end up higher than last year’s strong level, market players said.
Prices and profits remained unsatisfactory, having apparently worsened again in May. Average prices have fallen again, according to sources asked by EUWID.
