Envelope and shipping bag manufacturers in Germany reported strong order intake shortly ahead of Christmas 2017.
High demand seen over the last few months persisted especially for 80 g white woodfree envelope paper, sources said. Additional volumes were also not available.
Manufacturers found it easy to implement further hikes of €30/t in the fourth quarter, after having put through a similar increase in the previous one.
Producers of 80 g white woodfree envelope paper had tabled demands for another €20-30/t for 2018, which had reportedly been already fixed in many contracts.
