The German glass packaging market: Brisk export business in the first quarter

The 2015 business year has started well for the German container glass industry. Deliveries grew by 1.3% (tonnage) over the first three months. But developments varied markedly at home and abroad. While deliveries abroad soared by 13.9%, they declined by 3.4% domestically, according to “Aktionsforum Glasverpackung,” an initiative of the German container glass industry that is based in Duesseldorf. But no matter whether deliveries are sold at home or abroad, the bottles are produced in

glass furnaces in Germany. Assessing the market retrospectively for the past ten to twelve years, there are significant changes.
