Producers of label paper were significantly busier than expected at the turn of the year.
“We had anticipated that we would need to idle production as early as mid-December,” commented one EUWID respondent. But thanks to the good order situation, machines were fully operating until 24 December, he said. Business in Europe was rather weak due to the lockdown and closures in the restaurant and catering sector. Overall, though, the industry experienced a “very respectable” business year 2020 despite the coronavirus crisis.
The order situation at the beginning of 2021 also looks positive.
