The German market for used disposable PET bottles: Demand for flakes remains good

The situation facing Germany’s PET recyclers did not alter fundamentally in March compared with the month before.

Bottles were still abundantly available, and most recyclers also had large amounts on stock. Demand for flakes remained good. Since primary PET prices stabilised in March and made up for previous losses, the month of April will likely bring a halt to the downward trend in prices. 

A few observers thought that primary PET would become €40-50 per tonne more expensive.
