The price comeback that began last year for virgin-fibre based containerboard is entering the next phase.
Corrugated board and packaging manufacturers have received the first announcements of plans for another mark-up. This is set to take effect from 1 April onwards for brown and white-top kraftliner. It was still too early in the first few days of March to assess whether these plans had been successful.
In interviews conducted in the final week of February, EUWID sources tended to think that buyers would be unable to fully fend off higher prices, at least for brown kraftliner.
