The flow of volumes on the central European pallet markets, described as comparatively high throughout the year, remained undiminished in mid-December.
In addition, some pallet customers had already tried to get advance delivery of volumes under contract or to buy supplementary volumes of pallets in November.
In contrast, manufacturers are reporting production problems with standard as well as special pallets, attributing them to bottlenecks and failures in supplies of timber.
As such, domestic and foreign suppliers have been withdrawing at short notice volumes of timber agreed for delivery by Christmas.
