By and large, budgeted amounts of cartonboard are being delivered in a timely fashion at the start of 2022.
Minor delays were still happening, although the folding box industry was largely able to offset this effect, sources in the German market remarked to EUWID. This comment solely applied to cartonboard covered by existing agreements, though, as no extra material was available. Manufacturers are not doing business with new customers anymore – regardless of the amounts involved. After all, any material appropriated for a new contract would have to taken away from another customer. Buyers that had not planned far ahead enough into the year and were now on the hunt for material cannot be served, either.
