Following the most recent price adjustments for GD board and greyboard in Germany, further price movement may be coming.
Respondents surveyed by EUWID at the beginning of the second quarter said that the increases so far have not been sufficient to cover the actual cost burdens faced by board mills. Besides the high recovered paper prices, the adjustments have not yet sufficiently taken into account the rising costs for pallets, film, transport, energy and production chemicals, manufacturers say. This suggests the folding cartons industry may be heading into a third price round.
