The German sack kraft paper market: Boom in prices knows no bounds

Sack kraft paper prices in Germany continued to soar in the fourth quarter of 2018.

With producers heavily overbooked, converters had no choice but to accept mark-ups of €50-70/t for deliveries as of October 2018.

And the next price hike is already in the books too: buyers have had to pay €50-70/t more since the start of January 2019.

Converters were not only facing a persistent increase in prices in 2018 but reportedly also had to battle reduced supplies and delays in deliveries.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch Sack Kraft Paper for Q4/2018 together with the complete article will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 2/2019.
