Poland’s paper and board market is in uproar: Recovered paper and pulp prices are rising at breakneck speed, while costs for paper chemicals, starch, energy, logistics and transportation are also soaring.
There are no signs of these upward trends ending any time soon. Scant supply and growing lead times are becoming issues of mounting concern. Prices for the different types of paper and cartonboard are going haywire as a result. On the other side of the market, many paper converters and packaging producers are also hopelessly overbooked and are battling bottlenecks in paper supply. There is considerable nervousness within entire supply chains.
