Recovered paper France: higher export prices for ordinary grades lead to increases

The only reason merchants in France were able to charge higher prices for ordinary recovered paper grades in September was the strong demand from Asia and rising export prices.

Prices for supermarket paper and board (1.04) and old corrugated containers (OCC, 1.05) rose in September. Mixed paper and board (1.02) also achieved higher prices in some cases.

Several suppliers explained that the price increases resulted from a robust export business combined with continued low collection volumes, which reduced the availability of ordinary grades.
