The month of December was better than expected for many producers and converters of coreboard.
Market respondents in Germany said that although the industry still experienced double-digit declines, players had originally expected significantly worse results.
Producers and converters had anticipated that destocking would be even more pronounced in advance of the year-end inventory-taking. It appears, though, that this phase of de-stocking is slowly coming to an end, so there is some unexpected albeit reduced demand.
