More than 100 players sign up to join the EU’s Circular Plastics Alliance

Players from across the plastics value chain took part in the official signing ceremony for the European Commission’s Circular Plastics Alliance in Brussels on 20 September.

More than 100 private and public partners – including industry associations, plastics producers and converters, major retail groups as well as waste management and recycling firms – signed the declaration, which “promotes voluntary actions for a well-functioning EU market in recycled plastics”, the EU Commission said.

The declaration lays out how the alliance will reach the target of using 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics to make new products each year in Europe by 2025.
