Packaging paper Germany: No signs of movements for brown recycled containerboard

As of mid-May, there were no signs of a price movement for brown recycled containerboard this month in Germany.

There were a handful of renegotiations for white grades in particular cases where prices in April had remained unchanged. Consequently, by May at the latest, prices of white-top testliner have now been reduced everywhere.

Respondents repeatedly noted that suppliers of corrugated case material are struggling to stay afloat in a sea of red ink. In these circumstances, producers are much less likely to compromise on prices. Players believe the trough has been reached.
