Polish cartonboard producers and converters pessimistic after Q3 slowdown

The economic downturn in Europe is leaving its fingerprints on Poland’s cartonboard and folding box market, too.

Ordering has not really picked up again after the first signs of weakness emerged in roughly mid-June, and a variety of producers and converters observed decreases in order intake.

Packaging manufacturers in Poland interviewed by EUWID are reporting that order intake is slower than expected in the autumn, although mills are still said to be operating at satisfactory workloads.

Demand for cartonboard from several converters was less than budgeted as a result.
