Britain’s cartonboard market has by and large quietened down a little. Demand for all grades has returned to normal compared with last December, EUWID sources noted. This trend was partially ascribed to the slow economic recovery in the UK, with other market players describing this as the result of an overheated and panicked market last year. Many converters had ordered too much board too early because of concerns over shortages and were now scaling back their ordering as a result, sources added. Despite this slowdown, customers on the British recycled board market have had to dig deeper into their pockets since the start of May.
