Manufacturers of tubes, beverage cans, and aerosol cans made of aluminium have drawn a positive balance for the first half of 2022. The order books were well filled across the board, and even at the beginning of July the production lines in many places were running at full steam. However, manufacturers of aluminium packaging were confronted with many question marks at the start of the second half of the year. In view of the threat of a gas supply freeze by Russia in mid-July, unchanged bumpy supply chains and increasing inflation rates that are depressing consumption, the industry feared a flattening of demand for aluminium packaging in the second half of the year....
