At the end of June, negotiations on the announced price increase for kraftliner on 1 July have still not reached their conclusion. According to several EUWID sources, a two-step solution could be pushed through in most cases with a first serving of €20-25/t. Suppliers are expecting their plans to be bolstered by an anticipated lower supply in the third quarter due to maintenance and conversion work in Piteå and restricted deliveries from North America. Prices are said to have recovered internationally as well and the volume of sales has apparently been good as usual for the season in spite of EHEC.
