In Germany, the uncertainty about the natural gas supply looms over the paper market. If supplies are cut, paper production would basically have to shut down at many sites, players warn. On the market for recycled corrugated case material, the general feeling of uncertainty is influencing the price negotiations for July. It is unclear to what extent the declining order intake is due to inventory destocking at corrugated board factories or how much the current slump in consumption is playing a role. All types of fresh-fibre corrugated case material are now readily available. Supply of white-top kraftliner alone is apparently not quite as abundant. Coreboard is more readily available again, too. Small price increases emerged during the second quarter. For both primary fibre as well as recycled fibre based cartonboard, further price hikes are on the agenda as of 1 July in some cases....
