Polish cartonboard buyers tried for several weeks to resist new prices for GC board. Nevertheless, in the end they were unable to avoid the hikes. According to domestic producers as well as other European suppliers, the quotes for GC II board were up by 3-5% or €30-40/t, compared to the initial demands for hikes of €60-70/t. The new list prices are valid until June at the latest in most cases. Converters in Poland confirmed to EUWID that they had to pay more as of 1 January.
