The folding-box industry is still very fragmented in Poland. Small family companies in particular are waging hard price wars at times. Thanks to numerous investments in modern printing and converting machines in the last few years, Poland is increasingly becoming an "offset printing centre” and is meanwhile an important player on the European export market for folding cardboard packaging. The Polish board market in September was as tense as the German. Price rounds are on the agenda for the third time this year for virgin-fibre as well as recycled board. According to market sources, the increase to date already amounts to 15 and 20%.
