So far this year, the Polish recovered paper market has been characterised by a very high level of stability and unusually high predictability. This trend generally continued during the summer months. The slight downward trend in prices for the ordinary brown grades seen in July was reversed by a small increase in prices in September.
Prices have generally returned to the levels reported at the beginning of the year. The correction, which averaged PLN10/t (€2.40), was the result of slight excess demand from a few con-verters in Poland combined with a rise in exports to Germany, said market observers.
