Some participants on the UK recovered paper market who had been expecting demand from China to pick up considerably in August in advance of the upcoming Christmas season were worried. It seems that Chinese paper producers are acquiring more paper from other export markets and are also able to access the growing collection volumes in their own country. Furthermore, the industry in China is reportedly suffering from overcapacities in light of lower than expected order intake.
