In the first half of this year, the volume of container glass sold in Germany was around 2.03m t, which is 10.8% less than in the same period last year. As reported by the Aktionsforum Glasverpackung both domestic and foreign developments showed a downward trend. Compared to the first half of 2022, deliveries of beverage bottles fell by 12.4%. A look at the sub-segments showed a decline in the deliveries of beer and spirits (-16.5%) and wine and sparkling wine (-8.2%) segments. Non-alcoholic beverages (water, milk and juice) also recorded a significant drop of 7.8%. The upward trend of glass packaging of previous years was therefore broken....
