With a total of 646m aerosol cans filled, the French market exhibited comparatively stable development in 2021.
In the previous year, 647m aluminium and tinplate cans were filled in France, only slightly more. However, according to the French industry association CFA the apparent stability masks the considerable declines compared to the pre-crisis years. In 2018, for example, France was filling 696m cans; in 2019, the figure was 688m units.
Following the significant decline in the previous year, the personal care category recovered in 2021. It recorded growth of 2.2% to 404m filled cans. Fillings of aerosol cans for household applications, however, continued to decline last year.
